| The Popo 02/12/21 7:27:12 PM #76 | Not sure how many people will actually read this 70+ posts into the topic, but this was my experience... I started watching DBZ in 1999 on Toonami. The first episode I saw was form 3 Freeza blasting away at Piccolo. I became hooked and watched it through the rest of the Freeza saga, until they started looping the Funimation episodes again, back to Goku standing over Recoomes (censored) ass. In the meantime, Id been reading up on DBZ and downloading clips that had no context to me (Gohan going SSJ2, scenes from movies that I didnt know were movies, etc). I knew about the Cell & Buu sagas and really wanted to see them, so me and two friends chipped in to buy a bunch of CDs with most of the subbed episodes in RealPlayer files. Those episodes also started at Goku standing over Recoomes (uncensored) ass, and when he first yelled at Baata & Jeice to leave, we all sorta said Whats up with his voice? But within a few episodes, we were used to it. Today, I prefer Gokus Japanese voice to the English. I think Schemmel has greatly improved since the early days, and hes good at voicing Goku in Kai & Super, but theres something to be said about the direction that the character is portrayed. In the Japanese version, hes a free spirited innocent guy who will loves fighting. In the English version, hes more of a righteous protector who loves to fight, but seemingly loved being the good guy even more. --- Live action Hungry Hungry Hippos though, now that was a sport. ~Aeon Azuran |

Excalibur sometimes forgets to provide some basic info about matches (names of wrestlers, story plots, etc), but hes improving with experience. Schiavone... is fun because its like hes stepped out of a time machine and is seeing things for the first time in 20 years, so his reactions are the entertainment. The multiplayer stuff put it over the edge for me. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Smash, Star Fox 64, Mario Kart, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Mario Tennis, WCW vs nWo World Tour, WCW/nWo Revenge, and then several sports games... all great stuff with friends. Really, he declined as a character as more DLC characters came out. The newer characters gave him fits. In SFV, hes middle of the road.
